All rules are meant to keep the students from getting injured and contribute to their personal development in self-defense.
- Safety is the first priority in the dojo (training hall).
- Always bow when entering or existing the dojo.
- No street footwear can be worn on the dojo floor. Unless you have a pair of indoor shoes.
- Students will not engage in sparring without the supervision of an instructor or senior student.
- Students will cooperate with their training partner and use control when executing techniques. Resisting a technique or twisting out of a throw often result in injury.
- Students should be aware of their surroundings so as not to throw or run into other people.
- Keep your uniform (gi) clean. Personal hygiene is important when working with others.
- Keep your fingernails and toenails clipped and filed to avoid scratching others.
- Do not wear jewelry to avoid scratching others.
- Students will not chew gum or eat during class.
- Absolutely no foul language inside the school.
- Show up on time to class, attendance is important to your progress. If you are late, wait for the instructor’s permission to enter the dojo.
- Work out within your physical limits.
- Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to each class.
- Please notify your instructor if you will be missing class.
